MRSI exhibited at the Inaugural WPI/QCC Integrated Photonics Symposium, at WPI October 3, 2018, and Dr. Yi Qian, VP of Marketing, MRSI Systems participated in an industry panel including other industry peers from MACOM and Viavi Solutions. The panel discussed the latest photonics industry trends and challenges with data center transceivers, LiDAR, VR AR, and other sensors applications.
Inaugural WPI/QCC Integrated Photonics Symposium
MRSI has been involved with AIM Photonics and AIM Academy since its inception. Dr. Yi Qian is also a co-chair of the assembly working group at an academic-industry consortium led by AIM Photonics Academy, MIT Micro-photonics Center, and IPSR-International. MRSI is also involved with advanced manufacturing through the MassMEP / M2I2 funding by the Baker-Polito Administration as part of a recently announced commitment to invest in the Manufacturing USA program. MRSI’s award will allow it to invest significant resources alongside our collaboration partner, the American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics (AIM) to further develop advanced manufacturing capabilities in the photonics sector.
MassMEP The Future of Manufacturing Symposium
The following day in Worcester on October 4, 2018, MRSI Systems was actively involved at the Future of Manufacturing Symposium, with Dr. Yi Qian as a panelist for the Integrated Photonics discussion on device design, fabrication and packaging. There were seven US Manufacturing Institutes present at the symposium including Advanced Functional Fabrics and Textiles, Integrated Photonics, Robotics for Manufacturing, Flexible Hybrid Electronics, Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing, Biofabrication, and Cybersecurity Regulations.
